Beginning in a closet and with a delay occuring in reporting it to the E.F.D., this fire turned general-alarm as it raced through the older wooden apartment building. Mutual aid was provided by Humboldt Fire District 1 and the Arcata Fire Department; Patrol Officers and Detectives from the Eureka Police Department helped man lines. Several Firefighters sustained injuries; however, the cat shown below suffered only minor water damage.
